The University of the Peloponnese (UoP) is a modern, multidisciplinary, regional, and multi-campus university in Greece. It was founded in 2000 and it is developed at the level of integrated Schools in the capitals of the Prefectures of the Peloponnese: Tripoli, Kalamata, Sparta, Nafplio and Corinth as well as in Patras. It comprises 9 Schools and 22 Departments. It offers studies in all cycles of learning: undergraduate, postgraduate, and Doctoral as well as LifeLong Learning. The Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of the Peloponnese (PSIR) was established in 2007. It is part of the School of Social and Political Sciences and is based in the cities of Corinth. It offers cutting-edge undergraduate and postgraduate study programs in line with the best international standards. It constitutes a dynamic academic community with remarkable openness and great academic and professional potential for its graduates. The Department combines academic research with projects offering tangible results to the wider society.

Dr. Sotirios Petropoulos is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of the Peloponnese, focusing, among others, on Civil Society, multiculturalism and inclusivity through Civil Society. He enjoys an excellent reputation in his areas of research focus, based on a number of achievements throughout his career being either high quality publications (peer-reviewed journal articles, chapters in edited volumes and books) or participation in numerous research projects as key researcher, holding a promising publications record. 100+ citations of his work, 5 h-index and 8 g-index. He has acted as principal investigator on the groundbreaking survey on diversity and inclusiveness through the social economy sector (2023) while also acting as coordinator from Greece on the international project “MOTOR – Mobility Training Opportunities and Research: cultural awareness and the benefits of multiculturalism” (2022-2024). On more practical terms Dr. Petropoulos has advocated for inclusivity-focused programs by DYPA, the Greek Public Employment Service. Dr. Petropoulos is the co-founder of HIGGS, BMW Responsible Leader and Giving Europe representative for Greece.

Professor Asteris Huliaras teaches comparative politics and international relations at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of the Peloponnese where he holds a Jean Monnet Chair on EU relations with Less Developed Countries (jmonneteuldcs.wordpress.com). His research agenda includes Global North–Global South relations, foreign policy analysis and civil society. His interdisciplinary methodology draws on political science, international relations, and development economics, often employing comparative analysis across regions (mainly Africa, China and Southeast Europe) and engaging both theoretical literature and empirical data. He has published extensively in leading academic journals. He has also coordinated applied research and funded projects, using collaborative, action-oriented research methods that involve curriculum development, NGO training, stakeholder engagement and policy recommendations.

Professor Vassiliki Lalagianni is a Professor of European Literatures and Cultures at the University of the Peloponnese, focusing on travel literature, exile and migration narratives, and postcolonial Francophone literatures. Lalagianni’s methodological approach is rooted in archival literary research, genre analysis, bibliographic reconstruction, and intercultural and feminist-critical frameworks. She combines close textual reading with archival retrieval and classification to critically examine overlooked literary voices and the role of travel and migration in shaping cultural narratives.

Panagiota Manoli is Associate Professor in Political Economy of International Relations at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Peloponnese and Research Associate of ELIAMEP. She has been a Visiting Research Fellow at the Hellenic Observatory (LSE, 2018), a Visiting Professor at the European Studies Center, University of Pittsburgh (2016), and a Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (Southeast Europe Project), Washington, D.C. (2010). She taught at the Department of Mediterranean Studies, University of the Aegean (Rhodes, 2007-2019) and worked as the Director of Studies and Research at the International Center for Black Sea Studies – ICBSS (Athens, 2005-2009) and in the Economic Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of BSEC (Istanbul, 2000-2004). Her research interests focus on comparative regionalism, security and development, global and European governance.

Associate Professor Manos Papazoglou teaches Comparative Politics and EU studies at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of the Peloponnese. His research agenda includes political systems, government leadership and governance in the EU. His academic backround (PhD Essex, MA York, BA Athens) and main methodological approaches combine normative Political theory with comparative analysis of institutional and policy-making findings. He holds extensive experience in government consultation, he teaches several relevant postgraduate courses and has published several monographs and journal articles in that regard.

Dr Maria Rontou teaches English and English for Academic Purposes as Special Education Staff at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of Peloponnese. She holds a BA in English Language and Philology from the University of Athens, an MA in English Language Studies and Methods from the University of Warwick and an EdD in Language Studies from the University of Birmingham. She has worked as an English language teacher in primary and secondary education and at public Institutes of Vocational Training (I.E.K.). She has worked as Collaborative Teaching Staff since 2017 in Postgraduate Courses on Special Education and TEFL at the Hellenic Open University. She has been the writer of the teaching material and a collaborator at an e-learning programme of the University of Athens titled “Teaching foreign languages to students with dyslexia” since 2014. She is currently researching Learning Difficulties and ICT in Higher Education.
